Advanced Laparoscopic Associates (ALA) is proud to announce that Pascack Valley Medical Center, with which Dr. Amit Trivedi and Dr. Sarah Wong are affiliated, has recently received MBSAQIP accreditation.

Awarded by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) as a “comprehensive bariatric center of excellence,” this accreditation formally acknowledges Pascack Valley Medical Center’s commitment to provide multidisciplinary, safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care to metabolic and bariatric surgery patients. The hard work and dedication of ALA surgeons, Dr. Trivedi and Dr. Wong, as well as the excellent team at Pascack Valley, has accomplished this accreditation.

Dr. Amit Trivedi is a board certified surgeon at ALA specializing in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. As a pioneer of robotic surgery, he performed the first set of robotic bariatric surgeries in the United States using the ISU, or Intelligent Surgical Unit, on the Senhance Surgical Robot. The ISU allows for machine vision and Augmented Intelligence capabilities during robotic bariatric surgery. Dr. Trivedi is the chairman of the department of surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center at Pascack Valley and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Dr. Sarah Wong is a board certified surgeon at ALA. She holds memberships with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. An experienced researcher, Dr. Wong has presented her work at conferences around the country and has been published in many peer-reviewed journals.
