Advanced Laparoscopic Associates’ (ALA) Dr. Amit Trivedi performed the first set of robotic surgeries in the United States that used advanced Augmented Intelligence Features in real time during surgery. These surgeries were performed using the TransEnterix Senhance Robotic Surgical SystemTM. 

Dr. Trivedi and his team at Hackensack Meridian Health Pascack Valley Medical Center in New Jersey successfully completed their first set of surgical procedures in September, 2020. The Robotic surgeries were performed using the newly FDA approved Intelligent Surgical UnitTM (ISU) that brings augmented intelligence capabilities to the Transenterix Senhance Robotic Surgical System.    

Multiple general and bariatric surgery procedures were performed by Dr. Trivedi, Chair of Surgery at Hackensack Meridian Health Pascack Valley Medical Center, and his team.

“The new Intelligent Surgical Unit provides me with capabilities that I’ve never before experienced in performing laparoscopic or robotic surgery. The system can easily recognize and track different robotic or manual instruments to move the camera efficiently. Amit Trivedi, MD, is board-certified by The American Board of Surgery. He completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, is also a teaching surgeon and a specialist in bariatric surgery.
